Hi there, I'm Mia

I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. I'm an expat living in Berlin, Germany.

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Began

Moving to Germany wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.

The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more tangled than they should.

The Adjustment Phase

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of trial-and-error learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.

Why I Created YaviarBelaSela

Most online sources were either corporate relocation guides or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.

What this site covers (and what it doesn't)

This site is:

  • Practical insights drawn from living in Germany
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated only when genuine changes occur

This site is not:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking to the future

Our stay in Germany goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please feel free to get in touch.

Warm regards,

Mia
